Why is blue light harmful?
The blue light we are filtering is visible light that comes from the screen of your tablet. It reaches directly into your eye and can damage your retina over the long term. Similarly, it can interfere with the production of the sleep hormone, Melatonin, which means if you use your screen during the evening, you might find it harder to get to sleep, or to sleep well.
Will this work?
Yes, it will. We’ve designed, developed and tested this product rigorously and we are confident that it will filter the harmful blue light without affecting your display at all. The toughened glass screen protector is one that we’ve been selling for a while, so we know it offers great protection too.
Should I be worried about my health?
Research shows that prolonged screen use has the potential to cause damage if the blue light is not filtered. Opticians have been researching the possibility of using these filters in glasses lenses to protect eyesight, so it’s not a new phenomenon. Like wearing your seatbelt, we think it’s better to be safe than take the risk.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many times can I apply the OptiGuard Glass to my tablet?
Only once, unfortunately. Re-applying the screen protector could attract dust under the surface, resulting in bubbles forming. To make sure you apply it correctly, check out our installation video and follow the instructions inside the box.
What happens if I crack my OptiGuard Glass?
: Don’t worry about this. QDOS will replace your protector under the lifetime warranty we offer when you purchase the OptiGuard Glass. Simply contact us and we’ll help you with the process.
There are still bubbles underneath the OptiGuard Glass. How do I remove them?
That’s annoying! Use the applicator card to gently push the bubble to the side. You need to put some pressure on the card for the bubble to move, but you don’t need to use excessive force on the glass itself. Smaller bubbles should disappear by themselves in 1-2 days.
Why do I have to clean my iPad screen before I apply the OptiGuard Glass?
This is to make sure that there is no dirt, dust or grime on the screen. If there is, it will cause air bubbles to form underneath the protector, which will affect visibility.
How long will my OptiGuard Glass last?
It depends on how well you look after your tablet! Drops and impacts may obviously damage the protector, but if you’re careful with your tablet, it should last a long time. If you have any problems, contact our customer service team today.
